The Oscars and the MET gala are alright, but the red carpet event where we can really see style and class is the Cannes festival. It is once again time for the most glamorous red carpet of the year, where celebrities and starlets show off beautiful dresses with impeccable hair and make up that make you dream about champagne and paparazzi.
Lupita Nyong’o looked as flawless as ever in a flowy Gucci dress with crystal flower details that drew the eye to a daringly deep neckline. She twirled her way to the top of every “best dressed” list in her grasshopper green gown. Of course, you can’t wear a dress like that and fall short on the jewelry, so the Oscar winner completed her outfit with drop diamond earrings by Chopard and a double-strand hair band that was inspired by Uganda’s women according to her Instagram. Beautiful as always, the actress won over everyone on the red carpet and she is sure to feature in every best dressed list of this year.
Another lady that killed on the red carpet was Naomi Watts. She walked the carpet on a gunmetal-gray feathered gown with a deep v neckline and a low back. And because a dress this perfect can’t get to the party alone, she completed the ensemble with a blindingly bright statement diamond necklace. Of course, the whole outfit was so beautiful she didn’t want her hair to distract from it, so she finished her look with her hair up and very simple make-up. The best part is that, as fashionable as her outfit was, it was perfect for a surprisingly adorable photo-shoot. The actress let her two sons cuddling on the train of the dress with their smiling mom.
Doutzen Kroes blew everyone away by emphasizing her curves in an all-white Atelier Versace dress. The slick gown was stylish and sexy, with a high thigh slit to show off her beautiful legs. The former Victoria’s Secret Angel looked like a complete bombshell, with a mesh panel along the bodice that gave the dress an edgy yet classy look. The Dutch model completed her body-hugging outfit with strappy silver heels and a statement bracelet to add just the right touch of bling.
Fellow model Karlie Kloss also opted for an Atelier Versace number, although it was a little bit more daring and a lot racier. Her sparkly silver jumpsuit looked like it came from the future and combined a skirt and pants in a completely new way. Her chest was covered with barely a white horizontal strap. One of her legs was completely exposed while the other one remained covered, in an ensemble that we wouldn’t wear in a million years but that she somehow made it work. She completed her look with drop earrings, silver pumps and a chunky ring, and she wore her blonde hair down.
